The Ethiopian Community Organization in Houston is tremendously shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Ato Abey Girma. This is a terribly distressful news for all of us, and it will take a long time for us to come to grips with this loss.

Abey was a true Ethiopian, genuinely compassionate, extremely generous, honest and humble beyond measures.  He was an extraordinary mentor to many far and near and  a tirelessly hardworking individual – An epitome of a Godly man.

Abey’s positive impact  on the many lives he touched both personally and professionally is immeasurable and he left a noble and far reaching legacy of selflessness, compassion and generosity that we all can  draw inspiration from.

Abey has set the bar thru  his unwavering commitment to the betterment of the Ethiopian Community in Houston. He will certainly be missed by all of us, but will never be  forgotten.

We extend our sincere heartfelt condolence to his family, friends and all those impacted  by his unexpected departure.
